Every year, Alliance Française de Colombo proposes four terms, each of ten weeks’ duration.
- Term 1: January to March
- Term 2: April to June
- Term 3: July to September
- Term 4: October to December
We offer twice a week and intensive schedules :
- ADULTS :Twice a week, 3 x 2 hours, Monday + Wednesday / Tuesday + Thursday / Wednesday + Friday / Saturday + Sunday
- ADULTS INTENSIVE: Five days a week, 3 x 5 hours, Monday to Friday
- KIDS: Once a week, 2 hours
- TEENS: Once a week, 3 hours
- Accompaniment courses for National / London O.L. / A.L.: Once a week

You can register at our centre at No.11, Barnes Place, Colombo 7, or online.
Registration periods at AF:
Term 1: 24th November 2025 onwards
Term 2: March 3rd – March 23rd
Term 3: June 1st – June 30th
Term 4: September 1st – September 23rd
If you are a complete beginner, you are very welcome to come over to our centre and sign up for the beginner’s class; if you have already learned French, please register for a placement test before your registration.
- Refer to the rates for your course and, when necessary, the price of the new textbook & workbook.
- Select your preferred payment method and make the payment. (See below “Payment Method”)
If you are a complete beginner in French :
- Select your Beginner’s Course: A1.1 (Age 16 and above)/ Teens 1 (12-16 years)/ Junior 1 (8-11 years).

If you have studied French before :
- You will be required to sit for a placement test to determine your current level of French.
- Payment in cash at the Alliance Française Front Desk, No.11, Barnes Place, Colombo 7.

We have an average of 10 students per class. (max. 18)
