Working environment
The Alliance Française of Colombo, established in 1955, welcomes around 1,200 learners per year / 600 students per session (with an average of 65 courses for all ages and levels). The administrative team consists of 13 members (management, academic department, general administration, culture and communication, media library) and a team of full-time and part-time teachers. The Alliance Française of Colombo has 10 fully equipped classrooms and virtual classrooms for online courses. It houses a media library and a performance hall. It is an official examination center for the DELF-DALF and TEF. It also hosts the central management of the DELF for Sri Lanka and the Maldives, as well as the coordination of the Alliances Françaises in Sri Lanka and the Maldives. The AFC organizes numerous cultural events throughout the year and provides a lively francophone environment for its members with a cafeteria.

Main activities

  1. Academic Sector Administration
    Responsible for managing the academic operations of the institution, including:
    Organizing class schedules, coordinating individual and online classes, and handling cancellations or changes.
    Maintaining the LMS and student database, ensuring effective communication and managing student feedback.
    Preparing and updating academic calendars and dashboards (registrations, evaluations, deadlines).
    Liaising with the academic and front desk teams to ensure smooth coordination.
    Monitoring academic documentation (letters, attestations, agreements).
    Supporting academic meetings and trainings
  2. Examination Administration
    Oversees the organization and execution of DELF exams and placement tests:
    Manages DELF sessions via the official software, including scheduling, documentation, and room assignments.
    Coordinates the distribution and reedition of official certificates.
    Organizes placement tests, including scheduling, communication, and result dissemination.
  3. Support for Institutional Events
    Assists with the planning and communication for academic and cultural events:
    Coordinates teacher involvement and ensures effective communication with students and families.

Skills
Strong organizational and administrative skills
Familiarity with academic scheduling and course planning
Excellent written and oral communication and interpersonal skills
Attention to detail and ability to manage records and databases
Comfort with digital tools (e.g., Excel, learning platforms, virtual classrooms)


Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent and/or experience in a similar position of 2 years minimum

Proficiency in spoken and written English

Fluency in French is an added advantage

Proficiency in IT skills (MS Office, LMS


Salary & Benefits
