PLACEMENT TEST
To ensure that everyone is placed in the most suitable group level, in order to learn efficiently, all new students (apart from complete beginners), are required to take a placement test before registration. In order to have your registration and placement test done without hassle, we strongly suggest early registrations. All the placement tests are held online.

NUMBER OF STUDENTS PER CLASS
The number of students in each class may vary from 6 to 18 people. The students will be added according to the date of registration. The Alliance Française de Colombo retains the full right to cancel any class with an insufficient number of students. When classes are cancelled, students may choose either to be a transferred to another class of the same level, or to be issued a full refund.

CONFIRMATION OF REGISTRATION
Registration will be confirmed upon the full payment of the fees at the counter or online. Registration fees are non-transferable. Registration by telephone is not accepted.

No refund will be issued for unattended classes.
Registrations in person at the counter, can be made during Alliance Française opening hours. For online registrations, payment can be made by bank transfer only.

SECURITY OF PERSONAL DATA
The personal data of the registration forms is for the Alliance Française internal administration purposes only. They will not be used for any other purposes.

ADMISSION TO CLASSES
The course fees do not include learning material, textbooks, or placement test fees.
All the Alliance Française classes are strictly scheduled. Therefore, it is not possible for students to ask for catch-up classes and/or refunds for classes for which they were not present.
For on-site classes, the classrooms allocation will be posted at the entrance of the AF during the first week of each term.
For online classes, if you are registering for the first time, you will receive an email giving you access to our online Learning Management System Apolearn which will in turn give you access to your Zoom class sessions.

External auditors are not allowed during any Alliance Française courses.
Students are required to adhere to the Student Code of Conduct issued to them at the point of their initial registration. If a student’s behaviour is deemed highly disruptive either inside or outside of the classroom, by a staff member, said student may be requested to leave the AF premises and prohibited from joining any further classes of Alliance Française de Colombo at the discretion of the Management.

CHANGE OF CLASS / DEFERMENTS / CATCH-UP CLASSES
If a student is unable to attend the class he/she has registered in:

1. He/she may apply for a course transfer before the first day of class. The transfer will be confirmed by the Alliance Française on condition that a seat in a similar class is available;
2. He/she may defer the course to the next session. The course can be deferred once only. Deferred classes may take place at different days and times from the original class.

If the student is still unable attend the class he/she was deferred to, the course fee will not be refunded.
It is not possible to obtain refunds or catch-up classes for any lessons for which a student may have been absent. In the event that classes are cancelled due to government restrictions, catch-up courses will be arranged by the Alliance Française.
Online lessons will not be recorded. If a student is absent for any online lessons, the same rules as the on-site lessons will apply.

INDIVIDAL LESSONS – MINI-GROUPS
All the terms & conditions of individual and mini-group courses will be stipulated in a Protocol of Understanding (PoU).
No-shows as well as cancellations made less than 24 hours prior to the class will be fully charged to students.
Individual lessons are non-refundable once the course has started.

All the students are requested to read the Terms & Conditions that apply to registering at the Alliance Française de Colombo before the registration. By registering for a class, students accept all the Terms & Conditions stipulated above.
